My name is Larry Simonson and I am one of the team members of the Riggins Branch of Mountain Lakes Realty.
Just a little bit about my background to help us get acquainted:
I grew up in Northern California, home of the beautiful redwoods. My father and I ran a redwood logging operation and mill and actively worked to promote the future growth of these majestic trees. We were the first company to start a system to plant year-old redwood seedlings. (Seedlings that I personally planted are now over 100' tall and 2' in diameter.)
We were also involved in land development.
We relocated to Idaho in the early 80's to work on the development of Kimberland Meadows in New Meadows, Idaho (which is now known as Meadowcreek). When we sold that we decided that we loved Idaho and wanted to make it our permanent home. I then went into the real estate field.

Puppy Talk: Gracie is a new addition that has Larry and Nancy hopping. We also have Cricket, a 9 year old yellow lab. She has decided that the puppy is "here to stay" and they play together for hours on end. Patience seems to be one of Cricket's virtues. When Gracie gets too rambuncious, Cricket just lays a paw over her and holds her down for awhile.

Larry : My wife Nancy and I raised 4 children who are now grown with children of their own. They all love the outdoors and often mention that they are so glad we made the move to Idaho when they were young. Three of them live in the Boise area and our oldest son and his family live about a mile up the road from us in Riggins on our ranch. We feel very fortunate to be able to see our children often and be a part of their adult lives. (It is also a lot of fun to be grandpa and grandma to 8 grandchildren!) Another plus is that my parents moved to New Meadows about 8 years ago so get to take them bass fishing at Brownlee and steelhead fishing in the Little Salmon and always vie for the biggest one...we literally fish until you can't see your line anymore!!! (My Mom usually gets the biggest one!).

Outdoorsman: I am an avid outdoorsman whether it be hunting, fishing for steelhead, salmon or bass, fly fishing for trout in the Little Salmon, snowmobiling, snowshoeing etc. One of the things I love about real estate is being able to take clients out to see properties and have an adventure doing it! Sometimes we have to park the truck and take off on other means of transportation (as mentioned above!).

Ranching, Grandkids: If I'm not in the office or out showing property, you can usually find me working at the ranch we live on up Race Creek.. we raise longhorn cattle here...guess I should say my son and his wife do because most of the responsibility falls on their shoulders but we work together as a team as well....a wonderful life!! My three granddaughters 10, 13 and 15 also love Riggins..they are very involved in school, sports, rodeo..you name it and they are probably in it. that is part of the charm of living in a small town...everyone has to "be on the team!" Nancy and I love to go to the plays, games, etc and watch the girls as they are growing up before our eyes.

Hunting Camp: During hunting season, you will find all of our close and extended family gathered at hunting camp...one of our most treasured times with family....aunts, uncles, cousins, kids, grandkids...everyone has fun...especially at the end of the day around the campfire.

Nancy -the Better Half: Larry often describes wife Nancy as his Better Half. Indeed Nancy acts as his assistant and does help Vanna with office management.
